Slovenia! We were there for 10 days or so. We decided to create a
few sub-pages. First there's Gojace, Linda's mother home village.
Then Ljubljana, the Capital, Skocian and Postojna caves, Triglav National Park,
and bits and pieces of the rest.
So then, Gojace!
A small village, 50 or so families. Linda's mother family house is
here.
As you can see on the picture below, this is Wine Country. This picture is
looking south. To the west (right on the picture), about 15 kilometers
away, lies the border with Italy. Near Trieste. So this is
Mediterranean climate. Hot summers, mild winters. Lots of wine.

The
house. It starts here on the left and includes the part with the first balcony. Then Anica's house (a neighbor), with a different balcony.
The second neighbor is Lenard. Wine
maker. His wine won prises. Even in France. He makes a subtle
Sauvignon Blanc. It's right there, by Linda, in the 2000 Liters
tank. Also on the photo are Linda's mother and Lenard.
A
view of the village.
These
are the houses by the church. The oldest part of the village. How
old?... nobody knows for sure. Looks quite Roman to me. By the way,
Milko (a cousin) said there was an old ruin just up the hill. An old Roman water well.
Slovenia has lots of history!
