Art Collective's next show coming soon
The Art Collective's next show is coming soon to the Visual Arts Building in downtown Montreal, at the corner of Crescent St. and René-Lévesque Blvd. More details will be announced soon. This exhibition will include individual work by members as well as new pieces produced in our collaborative sessions. The work by individuals will showcase the exceptional talents of our members. A special interactive art making project will take place the evening of the opening as a special Art Matters event.
The Collective meets each Friday morning from 10 a.m. to 130 p.m. in VA-315, a painting studio in the Visual Arts Building of Concordia University's high-profile Faculty of Fine Arts. All Fine Arts students are welcome to join us, as well as Fine Arts alumni and professional artists.
Check out new work in our gallery, under Our Work.
Last week, we had three new artists join us: Carina Phillips, Jessica Alfonso and Judith Brisson. See our Members section for updated information.
Go to the News section of our site to read some excellent excerpts from New York Times stories about the latest on what's happening on the New York art scene.
These are: the Dana Schutz show; the New York downtown show (about the downtown scene a couple of decades ago when things were rather wild); and beyond the white cube, with new concepts in showing art.
To follow the New York art scene, stay in touch with artist Nancy Smith’s excellent site at
Nancy Smith's website
Nancy’s a Concordia University MFA graduate.
Don’t miss the excellent Painting and Drawing Association show. It’s Jan. 25-31 at Galerie Espace, 4844 St-Laurent, in Montreal. The not-to-be missed opening is Friday Jan. 27, 6 to 10 p.m. Collective members Joanna Nawracaj, Khadija C. Baker and Robert Winters have work in the show, as well as many fine artists. You can see the flyer on our website under photos section in gallery.
